Romero Britto (1963~), born in Brazil, is an international pop artist, who creates his own bright and hopeful style from various trends in art history, ranging from cubism to pop art and graffiti. He started to be internationally recognized due to the outdoor installation of a large-scale art piece at Hyde Part, a royal garden in London, and put his art works in symbolic places of each country, such as JFK Airport in New York, San Paulo International Airport in Brazil, and Swiss Bank. The artist has overcome poor and unhappy childhood and presents art pieces, created in his style with bright and positive colors and images. [Blue dog] also conveys a positive image to those who view the painting, by utilizing vivid colors and the shape of a dog, familiar to people, and generally manifests the characteristics of both sculpture and painting due to the thick border lines in black.
