Xavier Veilhan (1963~ ), an artist from Lyon, France, comes into the spotlight as one of the artists, who leads contemporary art in France. He simplifies the shape of human body or animals and creates them in a manner of mechanical production. The artist desires to move closer to the most essential form of the object he chooses, and to communicate with the audience on a relevant theme. His pursuit of minimized forms of an object, is well-manifested in [Carriage] ,which gives an impression of a carriage moving forward as if transcending time and space from Middle Age to the modern era. The transformation of an outcome, created from a mechanical production process with a focus on physical properties, into a beautiful art piece is one of the major features of his artwork.
