Pursuit of Cultural and Art Activities which Everyone Can Share and Enjoy
Taekwang Group established the Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation in 1990 to realize the social contributions envisioned by its founder, Chairman Ilju (Lee Im-young), and Chairwoman Sehwa (Lee Sun-ae). In 2009, the Sehwa Art and Culture Foundation was founded with the aim of nurturing talent and contributing to the popularization of culture and the arts.
The Sehwa Art and Culture Foundation is dedicated to contributing to the development of culture and the arts through three visions: “Art for Cultivating Cultural Citizens,” “Art for Embracing a Wide Range of World Cultures,” and “Art for Preparing for the Future.” By hosting public art installations and a variety of domestic and international exhibitions in the heart of Seoul, the foundation aims to promote cultural advancement.
In 2017, the foundation expanded its cultural and artistic endeavors by opening the “Sehwa Museum of Art” on the 3rd floor of Heungkuk Life Building in Sinmun-ro, making the arts more accessible to the public. The Sehwa Art and Culture Foundation is committed to popularizing culture and the arts through distinctive exhibition planning throughout the year, as well as offering diverse cultural and artistic education programs. Moving forward, we will continue to lead the domestic and international art scene and create a space for everyone to share in cultural and artistic experiences.
