Hyun-jung Shin (1953~ ) produces pieces with primitive liveliness and strong faith in the pursuit of finding out the original form of humankind civilization. Artiodactyla, as suggested in the title of the piece, means cloven-hoofed herbivores. The artist has created a piece with a theme of deer and goat to pay tributes to artiodactyl animals, which have provided meat, milk, horns, fur, and even physical labor for the survival of mankind. He mentioned that he wanted to thank the devotion of animals for mankind through this piece and suggested that people give some thoughts one more time to artiodactyl animals, whose number is in decline due to greed of mankind.
