The Sehwa Museum of Taekwang Group hosts the exhibition, 《Between the worlds》, from October 30th, 2017 to January 30th, 2018, featuring the work of Bernd Halbherr (1964-). Bernd Halbherr is from Ulm, Germany, and has lived in Korea since 2006 when he participated in Media City 2000, which was hosted by the Seoul Museum of Art.
The primary interests of the artist are various forms of “Transformation,” and he realizes the ideas using a variety of media, which include an image transforming into a space, and the space changing back to the image, analogue transforming into digital, and the images with particular meanings transforming into those with transformed meanings. The work that represents his art is a ball-shaped photo sculpture, a ball covered with panoramic photographs of an object or a place that has inspired the artist. Along with the
This exhibition reminds us of a solar system as dominant images of the exhibition are circular shapes and mirrors reflecting one another, including balls and mirrors, and photographs in the mirrors. Viewers will be on an exploration to find their own meanings and appreciation in the feast of images that are reflected on one another.
