Tradition is the Future III

2018. 2. 28. - 2018. 4. 29.

Sehwa Museum of Art, Gallery 2

Taekwang Group’s Sehwa Art & Culture Foundation and Seoul Arts Center have carried out a project to restore and publish collections of national calligraphy treasures and hosted exhibitions to celebrate the publication since 2014 in an effort to promote the excellence of Korean calligraphy and boost its stature on the world stage.

This 3rd exhibition is to cover all of our publications and exhibitions up to now, as it is scheduled to take place at a time when the final five out of fifteen Korean calligraphy collections initially planned are finished.

The event features works of currently active 15 calligraphers including one that puts a spin on Korean calligraphy and one that vividly expresses the spirit of the modern times based on the reinterpretation. The exhibition will present the future direction for Korean beauty through traditional calligraphy with an emphasis on Korea’s unique aesthetic consciousness.

We hope that the exhibition will give you an insight into our cultural and artistic heritage that has been passed down and developed for such a long time.
