Wave Wave Project 2018

2018. 9. 1.(Sat) - 9. 4.(Tue)

Yeoinaru Water Taxi Pier

In 2014, artists Ahn Seongseok and Jeong Hyejeong, who were colleagues, built a wooden boat using blueprints to better understand and observe the Han River, which once felt like something unreal. Set adrift on the vast, empty space of the river, looking at the city and experiencing the stillness, was an unfamiliar sensation. In 2015, they invited people aboard the boat to relax on the river, confronting the remnants of the past, sometimes feeling indignant or melancholic. They encountered strangers, sometimes embarrassed, other times happy.

At the end of summer 2018, they embark on the boat once more. Wave Wave Project prepares a 100-minute performance set against the backdrop of the Han River and Seoul. The Yeoinaru and Ichon areas and the river itself will form the stage, with people and animals becoming the performers.

On September 1st (Saturday) and 2nd (Sunday), performances will be held at 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 7:00 PM, with the backdrop of Yeoinaru and Ichon. On September 3rd (Monday) and 4th (Tuesday), there will be no performance, but a Han River boating experience will be available at the same times.

Click the link and choose your desired date and time. When you arrive at the Yeoinaru Water Taxi Dock at your chosen time, an escort will be waiting for you. Following their guidance, you will board the boat, which will cross the Han River, telling you the stories of the river and the city.

The vast Han River will become your own stage, traversing both the everyday and the festive.
